WINTER is a collection of songs from albums I planned on making this year but never got around to finishing.

‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’ and ‘White Christmas’ were from a Christmas album I started recording in February (I know right) and immediately lost interest in.

‘How the Whole Thing Got Started’, ‘Footprints In the Snow’, ‘Blackbird Over Nebraska’ and ‘Snowglobes’ are part of an instrumental synth-based album I was making called ‘Midnight Banana’ that I may still finish since it was quite a bit of fun.

‘Let Me Explain’ and ‘Kind of Cruel’ are demos of songs that will hopefully be expanded upon on the 2nd Rattleshake album.

‘Hackensack’ was a song I forgot to record when making my covers album ‘Rock and Roll McDowell’s’, so consider it a addendum to that record.

‘sorrowsong’ is one of seven songs I wrote during a week where I would wake up, pick up my guitar and make up a song in 30 minutes time. It’s probably the best of the bunch, and I doubt you’ll ever hear the rest (you’re welcome).

I truly hope you, the listener, do see this album as what it is: a connected and cohesive collection of songs that ebb and flow as a unit and not simply some scraps from discarded projects I was too lazy to finish. This album would not exist had I not believed the ten songs within were part of the same connective musical tissue. They all come from a part of my musical mind that I believe I am no longer able to contact. There will always be new ways to create, but I am unsure if I’ll be able to create this way again. And so, I release these songs from my soul. I release them to you, the listener. Expect to hear from me again soon.
